Torquay 2002

Constantine Silver Band: April 3rd 2003 (D Down)
Constantine Silver Band: April 3rd 2003 (D Down)

In November 2002 the band travelled to Torquay and against bands from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset, Constantine Silver Band became the Fourth Section Southwest Brass Band Association Champions for the first time. Each player received a winners medal and Mr Edwards the winning conductor’s shield. The day’s memories will live with all those concerned for years to come. None more so than the sheer delight of Dougie Down and Ian Edwards on the realisation of what had been achieved.

Following the success at Torquay, a reunion evening was held 25 years to the day that the first practice of the band’s reformation was held. Players from the 1977 band totoday’s band were present.
