Inspirational sporting visits
There have been many highlights over the past few months for pupils of Constantine School but I think if you ask the children they will speak about the following:
On Thursday 23rd February we were one of only six schools in the country to win a competition with the prize being a visit from the actual Premier League trophy and workshops with our nearest football league club – Plymouth Argyle. The children were treated to an inspirational assembly from the Premier League Team and then photo opportunities with the trophy. They were also all able to participate in workshops led by some of the Plymouth Argyle squad – aided by Pilgrim Pete – their mascot!
There was also a fascinating Q&A session with the trophy’s two security guards. They travel the world with it and are never allowed to let it leave their sight. After leaving us they were off to India and they told us the trophy gets its own seat on the plane!
The following week we had another inspirational sporting visit from international triple jumper Nathan Fox. He gave a brilliant insight into the life of an athlete and again the children participated in fitness circuits to raise money for sports equipment for school. For such a relatively small school we have had some amazing sporting successes this year making us incredibly proud. It is opportunities like these that keep inspiring and motivating our wonderful children.
