The Tolmen Centre is at the heart of village life in Constantine, Cornwall. Many residents and friends enjoy events here; a wide and loyal audience has developed for the varied arts programme, and the Centre is slowly but surely building up a reputation in the Comish arts community. Kneehigh tell us that we are one of their favourite venues: praise indeed.
Some of our upcoming events are listed on the right. There’s more information on the Events page and you can download the full programme as a PDF file here. For details of movie nights at the Tolmen Centre please visit our Movies page.
The Tolmen Centre is now used on a regular basis by the Male Voice Choir and the Drama Group as well as for various courses including IT and Keep Fit. The Heritage Centre is now in regular operation.
Another Oscar winner – a brilliant movie from writer/director Asghar Farhadi, about a marriage caught up in the fault lines of contemporary Iran. “Lively and suspenseful. . . .” – Time Out.
An Anglo-New Zealand collaboration, starring Peter OʼToole and Judy Parfitt, in what the Guardian describes as a “delightful, oddly moving film, immaculately acted and nicely located in its period”. “Faintly bonkers” says Empire Magazine. Mmm – how to sum it up? A very satisfying fantasy comedy drama, perhaps – but come and see for yourself.

Black and white and silent, The Artist has taken audiences by unexpected storm – and won best picture at the Oscars. An homage to 1920ʼs Hollywood, the movie describes an actorʼs struggle to come to terms with the dawn of the talkies.
