The Tremayne Family

It was in May 1989 that I wandered through Constantine churchyard when I caught sight of some Tremayne headstones. (My grandfather was a Leonard Tremayne born 1899 at Tregantallan Constantine). Who were these strange Tremayne’s, Cuthbert, James, Joseph and the wonderfully named Melchisedec and in what way might they be related to me? ……

Books too numerous to mention but three that should be:

  • The History of the Parish of Constantine
    By Charles Henderson M.A.
    Edited by G.H. Doble.
  • Angarrack, the Singular history of a Cornish Village
    By John Tremayne Higgans.
  • The Tremain Family History
By Joy Tremain and Mandy Chapple.
    (an Australian publication)

Jeanette Tremayne of Canberra A.C.T. for her Australian contributions, Andy Tremayne of Runwell, Essex, and to my cousin Susan Nicholls of Camborne, Cornwall for being my “foot soldier” in Cornwall.
